Weekly Health Letters for Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities
This study is funded by the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR). This study has been approved by the IWK Health Centre Research Ethics Board.
TAKE PART IN A RESEARCH STUDY
Are you:
Living in Canada?
At least 18 years old?
One of the primary caregivers (i. e. grandparent, foster parent, adoptive parent, biological parent, or other unpaid caregiver) for a child with a developmental disability?
Spending a minimum of 20 hours per week for at least the past 3 months caring for your child with a developmental disability; and planning to continue caregiving?
NOTE: There is no age range for the child/children with developmental disabilities.
What is the purpose of this study?
To develop and test the effectiveness of the 90SecondParent Wellbeing health letter in improving wellbeing in parents.
What you will be asked to do?
You will be selected by chance to one of the two groups;
One group will be sent 2 health letters per week, via email for 18 weeks.
The other group will wait 22 weeks to receive their first health letter.
You will be asked to complete three 15-minute online questionnaires;
The first questionnaire at baseline (at the beginning of the study)
The second questionnaire after the 18 weeks of intervention
The third questionnaire at the one month follow-up (at the end of the study)
You will receive a $25 gift card after completing all surveys in the study.
